The short answer: if you want the cheapest way to get lots of loose 6×4 prints, FreePrints is hard to beat. If you want your photos to become the story of your year, captured as it happens in a one-photo-a-day linen journal, choose Mosaic Journal. They solve different problems.

How does each one work?

FreePrints is a photo printing app. In the UK it offers free standard 6×4 prints, normally up to 45 a month and up to 500 a year, and you pay for delivery (up to £3.99 an order). Delivery is estimated at 5–10 days.

Mosaic Journal is a daily photo journal. You get a premium linen hardcover journal with 365 photo pockets (52 weekly spreads). In the free app you choose one photo per day, and once a month up to 31 printed photos arrive automatically, free, as 4×4" squares sized to slip straight into the journal's pockets. No glue, no stickers.

The real difference

FreePrints is brilliant at printing photos. But a stack of 6×4s usually ends up where most prints do: in a drawer. Mosaic Journal starts with the home. Every print has a pocket waiting for it, the photos arrive on their own each month, and the finished journal is a record of your life you can keep and pass down. It's less about printing photos, more about celebrating them.

It's genuinely fun, too: 365 empty pockets, filled one moment at a time. And it's flexible. Do one a day, or if a daily habit isn't your style, print on demand with Freestyle to clear out your camera roll.
